The Founding Circle.
More and more of us are feeling the same thing. If AI keeps moving the way it is moving, the world we leave to the people after us will not be the one we would have wanted for them. The choices that decide it are being made right now, by whoever cares enough to show up. This is a moment that asks to be stewarded, and the care of it falls to us. To steward something is to look after it for people you will never meet, simply because they matter.
The Founding Circle is the first group of individuals to support humanaligned.org at the beginning, while the direction can still be shaped. It is a public-good initiative, and a founding gift supports that work and only that.
What a founding gift supports.
It funds the public-good work: building and holding the frame in the open, building the open measurement framework, connecting and synthesizing the field, convening the coalition, and telling the story of what is working.
What members of the circle receive.
A place in the public record of the founding cohort. Invitations to the gatherings where the work is shaped, beginning with Bay Area convenings and extending up the West Coast. Briefings and synthesis ahead of public release. Direct, substantive visibility into where the work is moving and where it is meeting friction.
How it works.
The conversation precedes the gift. We begin with a short conversation, because we want the work to be right for you. We do not solicit and we do not sell. The next step is simply a conversation.
